SEC Confirms Effectiveness of Bitwise XRP ETF Filing
The SEC has confirmed the effectiveness of a key filing for Bitwise's XRP ETF, which triggered a 7.7% XRP price surge earlier this month.
The SEC's Notice of Effectiveness, dated September 28, confirms that the Post-Effective Amendment No. 2 filed by Bitwise on September 18 is now effective.
This filing was the subject of some confusion, as it coincided with a significant price increase in XRP. However, the notice makes clear that this is not a new approval for a XRP ETF, but rather an update to an existing product.
The Bitwise XRP ETF has been trading on the NYSE Arca under the ticker XRP since November 19, 2025, and the filing did not change the underlying structure of the fund. The annual expense ratio remains at 0.34%, and the fund continues to hold XRP directly, using Coinbase Custody for token safeguarding and BNY Mellon for administrative functions.
