SEC Crypto Fundraising Exemptions Face Final Public Comment Period
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has proposed two crypto fundraising exemptions that would allow eligible ventures to raise up to $5 million in any four-year period under one path and up to $75 million in each 12-month period under another. The proposal, which drew 31 public comments as of August 27, is currently open for public comment until October 20.
The proposed exemptions are part of the SEC's effort to regulate crypto fundraising, a move that has been met with both support and criticism from industry stakeholders. With just 54 days left to comment, remaining participants in the process have a limited window to seek changes to the framework.
