Taylor Lindman, chief counsel of the SEC's Crypto Task Force, will be a keynote speaker at CoinDesk's Policy & Regulation 2026 event on September 22 in Washington, D.C. Lindman has been making waves in the crypto space with his 'two-bucket' regulatory framework, which aims to categorize digital assets as either securities or commodities.

Lindman was previously Deputy General Counsel at Chainlink Labs for five years before joining the SEC in February 2026. His appointment was endorsed by SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, known for her crypto-friendly views. The 'two-bucket' framework is part of the SEC's evolving approach to crypto regulation.

Lindman also discussed the CLARITY Act at Consensus in May 2026, which aims to provide clearer definitions between securities and commodities. If passed, it would be a major development for the industry, potentially reshaping how exchanges list tokens and projects structure their fundraising.
