SEC Grants 5-Year Exemption for Tokenized Stock Transactions
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced a limited exemption from regulations for tokenized stock transactions. The new framework applies to tokens representing traditional shares in licensed pools.
The SEC took this step after the CLARITY Act failed to advance in the Senate on September 15th.
The regulation focuses on tokenized versions of US stocks, such as $XRP ($1.41 · Live), and not cryptocurrencies like XRP itself.
