SEC Grants Five-Year Exemption for Tokenized Stocks Amid Crypto Regulatory Clarity

Share

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has granted a five-year exemption for tokenized stocks, allowing companies to issue digital securities that are exempt from traditional regulatory requirements.

This move comes as the CFTC issues a no-action letter covering non-custodial wallets, providing clarity on the regulatory treatment of these types of wallets. The Clarity Act cryptocurrency legislation failed, but the SEC and CFTC have deployed their existing powers to advance crypto rules.

According to Henri Arslanian, Co-Founder of Nine Blocks - Crypto Hedge Fund, this development is a significant step forward for the industry.
