The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has introduced a temporary exemption allowing conditional on-chain trading of certain tokenized U.S. listed equities.

The exemption, which lasts up to five years with caps on the number of securities each Tokenized Securities Venue (TSV) can handle and daily trading volume limits, aims to promote innovation in the financial sector.

S&P Global has agreed to acquire OpenZeppelin, a provider of smart contract security infrastructure, to strengthen its capabilities in on-chain risk assessment and digital asset analytics.

The market capitalization of decentralized finance (DeFi) tokens surged by approximately $7 billion to reach $80 billion, with key movers including Hyperliquid (HYPE), Uniswap (UNI), Aave (AAVE), Chainlink (LINK).
