SEC Plans Exemption for 24/7 Blockchain Trading
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is taking steps to allow 24/7 trading of tokenized stocks on the blockchain. The SEC has scheduled an open meeting for Friday to establish a framework for the sale of certain crypto-related investment contracts.
This exemption, if finalized, would mark a significant shift toward integrating traditional finance with digital assets, a trend driven by growing demand for round-the-clock trading.
The proposed framework is narrower than the larger CLARITY Act, which aims to bring more regulatory clarity and investor protection for the cryptocurrency sector.
