SEC Tests Regulatory Framework for Digital Assets in Binance Sandbox

The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is testing its oversight of digital assets through a regulatory sandbox for Binance services, including BlockShoals. The Strategic Sandbox framework allows companies to operate under relaxed regulations while being monitored by regulators.

Atty. Maria Antonette 'Tonet' Quiogue, Jen Bilango, SB Seker, and Atty. Paolo Ong are involved in this initiative. BlockShoals is among the first to operate under this framework alongside Binance.

The SEC aims to balance innovation with investor protection by testing its oversight of digital assets. The Strategic Sandbox will help regulators understand how to effectively regulate these new financial instruments.
