Apple Sued Over $1.8M in Alleged Bitcoin Wallet App Losses
Apple is facing a lawsuit from three customers who claim they lost a combined $1.8 million after downloading a fake Bitcoin wallet app from the App Store.
The plaintiffs, James Ramirez, Christopher Ellis and Jalen Delgado, downloaded an app that appeared to be a legitimate version of Sparrow Wallet, but was actually a scam created by fake developers.
The scammers were able to transfer the victims' Bitcoin after they entered their seed phrases into the fraudulent app.
Apple has removed apps impersonating Sparrow Wallet and terminated developer accounts linked to those apps, according to a statement from the company.
