Securitize Teams Up with OUSD to Revolutionize Institutional Transactions
Securitize has joined the Open USD (OUSD) stablecoin network as a Network Partner, aiming to support onchain financial infrastructure. The company manages over $4 billion in assets and integrates with over 18 blockchain networks.
OUSD is a decentralized stablecoin that allows partners to mint and redeem the stablecoin without fees, sharing in the earnings generated by its reserves. Governance follows a similar logic, with a board made up of participating partners overseeing the network.
Securitize's partnership with OUSD brings together two entities that already have existing relationships - Securitize tokenizes funds for BlackRock, and OUSD has over 200 partners in its network, including Coinbase and Mastercard. The partnership's focus on institutional-scale transactions could make it easier for large firms to move between tokenized assets and dollars without leaving the blockchain.
While specific details about transaction volumes or financial structures have not been disclosed, the partnership marks a significant step towards co-op models in stablecoin issuance, where reserve income is shared among partners rather than controlled by a single issuer.
