Sei Becomes Hub for Tokenized Finance with Wall Street-Style Products
Sei has emerged as a key player in connecting traditional finance with blockchain technology. The network's speed and low costs make it an attractive option for Wall Street-style financial products, which are increasingly being tokenized on Sei.
The network currently processes transactions at around 400-millisecond finality, meaning that a transaction is confirmed and locked in under a second. This speed is achieved through parallel execution, where non-conflicting transactions run simultaneously, combined with a storage layer called SeiDB built for fast reads and writes.
Several regulated financial products have already launched on the network, including Apollo's Diversified Credit Fund (ACRED), tokenized by Securitize, which holds over $114 million in on-chain value. Ondo Finance's USDY, a tokenized Treasury note backed by short-term U.S. Treasurys and bank deposits, has also been launched on Sei.
Sei is preparing for more institutional volume with its roadmap pointing towards handling far more transaction volume than it does today. The planned Giga Upgrade targets 200,000 transactions per second and 5 gigagas per second of throughput, using a multi-proposer consensus system called Autobahn.
