Senate Bill Seeks Parity Between Bitcoin and Other Top Cryptocurrencies
A draft bill from the Senate Banking Committee could grant XRP, SOL, Dogecoin, and Bitcoin similar regulatory status.
The proposed legislation, called the CLARITY Act, would create a non-ancillary asset classification for cryptocurrencies serving as principal assets in exchange-traded products listed on national securities exchanges by January 1, 2026. This would exempt them from securities regulations.
Industry observers emphasize that institutional compliance implications are more significant than near-term price effects. Jordan Jefferson from DogeOS stated that statutory classification clarity expands which institutions can legally engage with specific assets.
