Senate Blocks Landmark Crypto Regulation Bill Amid Trump Investment Concerns
The crypto industry suffered a major setback on Tuesday as the Senate blocked a landmark bill aimed at regulating the nation's $2.3 trillion crypto market.
The Clarity Act, championed by Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio), failed to advance after Democrats demanded stricter limits on President Donald Trump's crypto investments.
Moreno, a former tech executive in blockchain and architect of the legislation, expressed his disappointment with the outcome: 'It was a very sad day for the Senate yesterday,' he said. The bill had been in the works for 18 months and thousands of hours were invested in its development.
