Senate Committee Sought to Probe Trump, Biden Sons Over Crypto Ties

Republican Senator John Curtis of Utah has requested that the Senate Judiciary Committee investigate potential conflicts of interest involving Donald Trump's son, Donald Jr., and President Joe Biden's son, Hunter.

Curtis' letter to Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley and ranking member Dick Durbin alleges that both men may have used their family ties to the presidency for private gain, particularly in relation to cryptocurrency and related financial activities.

The senator cited Donald Jr.'s acceptance of gifts from Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev tied to a wedding, as well as his 'active promotion of family-backed cryptocurrency ventures.'

Curtis also pointed to Hunter Biden's substantial business with foreign entities and the alleged use of presidential ties for advantage.

The push for investigations arrives amid continued uncertainty around US crypto market-structure legislation, after the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act failed to advance.
