Senate Democrats Revive Bipartisan Push for Clarity Act
Seven Senate Democrats have reaffirmed their commitment to bipartisan talks on crypto market structure legislation after the recent failed vote. The Clarity Act, which aims to provide regulatory clarity and stronger ethics rules for elected officials, was put forward but fell short of the 60 votes needed to advance.
The group of Democrats, including Kirsten Gillibrand, Mark Warner, Ruben Gallego, Angela Alsobrooks, Cory Booker, Catherine Cortez Masto, and Raphael Warnock, said the setback is temporary and that they remain committed to developing legislation through bipartisan consultations.
Their statement highlighted priorities such as consumer protection, penalties for malicious operators, regulatory clarity, and stronger ethics rules. They also emphasized efforts to expand opportunities through changes to crypto regulations.
