Senate Poised to Pass Crypto Clarity Act Next Week Amid Regulatory Uncertainty
SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce has announced that the U.S. Senate is likely to pass the Crypto Clarity Act within the next week, citing its progress through the House and Senate Banking Committee.
The bill aims to clarify regulatory responsibilities over digital assets between the SEC and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), imposing substantial rulemaking obligations on the SEC according to Commissioner Peirce.
Despite the optimism from Commissioner Peirce, market participants remain skeptical, with a 16.5% likelihood of passage priced into the market, down from 26% just 24 hours ago.
