Senate Prepares for Potential Cloture Vote on CLARITY Act This Weekend

Share

The US Senate may hold a cloture vote on the CLARITY Act as early as this weekend, after Majority Leader John Thune files a motion on Thursday. According to crypto commentator Kenny Nguyen, bipartisan negotiations have been ongoing since yesterday with nonstop talks.

The White House has started negotiating ethics provisions of the bill with both parties, which could be a key breakthrough before the Senate vote. Sen. Thom Tillis said that people are working with the White House right now to resolve some lines in the text.

Sen. Cynthia Lummis expects the Senate to delay their August recess for a CLARITY Act vote and has spotlighted 11 months of negotiations with Democrats, adding hundreds of pages at their request.
