Senate Rejects Crypto Bill, Sends Signal for Buying Opportunity in Exchange Stocks
Needham analysts see a buying opportunity in crypto exchange and brokerage stocks following the U.S. Senate's rejection of President Trump's digital asset bill, known as the CLARITY Act.
The Senate failed to advance the legislation on Tuesday after 49 senators voted against the motion to proceed, falling short of the 60 votes needed.
This led to sharp declines in crypto-linked stocks, with Coinbase down 10.1%, Robinhood down 9.5%, Binance dropping 3.4%, and eToro declining 4.2%.
Needham analysts maintain that the CLARITY Act would have had minimal impact on most crypto companies' underlying businesses, and that they see no changes to their volume, revenue, or earnings estimates for exchanges and broker platforms including Coinbase, Robinhood, Gemini, and eToro.
