Senate Rejects Crypto Regulation Bill Over Ethics Concerns
The US Senate has failed to advance a bill aimed at regulating cryptocurrency after it received 49 votes in favor and 50 against. The bill required 60 votes to move forward.
The vote took place on Tuesday, September 15, amid concerns from Democrats that the bill did not go far enough to prevent corruption and safeguard assets from financial crashes.
Republicans insisted they had made every possible change to the ethics portion of the package but were unable to secure the necessary votes.
