Senate Republicans Seek Probe into Trump and Biden Sons' Crypto Ties
Senator John Curtis, a Republican representing Utah, has called for an investigation into the cryptocurrency ventures of US President Donald Trump's and former President Joe Biden's sons.
Curtis sent a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley and ranking member Dick Durbin, citing concerns over 'the use of presidential family relationships for private financial benefit, preferential treatment, or access by domestic and foreign interest.'
The Utah lawmaker specifically highlighted Donald Trump Jr.'s involvement in the crypto industry, including his acceptance of gifts from Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev as part of his wedding and his role as an advisor to prediction market platforms under the regulatory purview of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Curtis also mentioned Hunter Biden's 'substantial business with foreign entities' and instances where either man's relationship to the presidency was invoked or understood to provide value.
