Senator Demands Probe into Trump Jr., Biden's Crypto Ventures
Senator John Curtis, a Utah Republican, has called for an investigation into US President Donald Trump's and former President Joe Biden's sons' involvement in cryptocurrency ventures. In a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee leaders, Curtis cited concerns about potential private financial benefits, preferential treatment, or access by domestic and foreign interests.
Curtis specifically targeted Donald Trump Jr., who has promoted family-backed crypto ventures and advisory roles with prediction market platforms under the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's purview. The senator also mentioned Hunter Biden, Joe Biden's son, for 'substantial business with foreign entities' and instances where his relationship to the presidency was invoked or understood to provide value.
The Utah lawmaker requested subpoenas for both Donald Trump Jr. and Hunter Biden, stating that the purpose of an inquiry should be to establish facts, determine whether existing laws apply, and identify necessary reforms to prevent private enrichment by those closest to the presidency.
