Sequans Ditches Remaining Bitcoin Holdings
Sequans Communications has completed its exit from Bitcoin after selling its remaining 314 BTC. This move comes after the company used earlier sales to cut debt and reshape its balance sheet.
In November 2025, Sequans sold 970 BTC to reduce its debt from $189 million to $94.5 million, stating that it was a tactical decision to put the company in a better position to expand its Bitcoin holdings later.
However, as the year progressed, the company continued to sell Bitcoin, using the proceeds mainly for convertible debt redemption and its American depositary share buyback program.
By May 2026, Sequans had redeemed its remaining convertible debt and outlined plans to wind down the Bitcoin treasury strategy. The final sale of 314 BTC has now been completed, leaving no cryptocurrency on its balance sheet.
The company's CEO, Georges Karam, stated that the decision represents a substantial change from their position less than a year ago and that they are focused on capitalizing on the strong momentum across their semiconductor business.
