Sequans Ends Bitcoin Experiment, Sells Last Holdings
Sequans Communications has completed its exit from Bitcoin holdings after selling the last 314 BTC. This marks the end of an experiment that began quietly in 2025 and accelerated in 2026 as financial pressure mounted.
The French semiconductor maker sold 970 BTC in November 2025 to reduce debt, followed by another 1,025 BTC during the first quarter of 2026. The remaining 314 BTC were sold on September 24, leaving the company with zero cryptocurrency exposure.
Sequans CEO Georges Karam said the company is now 'focused on capitalizing on the strong momentum across our semiconductor business.' With Bitcoin off the balance sheet, Sequans is shifting its resources to cellular IoT and software-defined radio chips.
