Sequans Exits Bitcoin Treasury Strategy with Remaining 314 BTC Sold
French semiconductor company Sequans Communications has completed its exit from a Bitcoin treasury strategy by selling its remaining 314 BTC. This move comes after the redemption of its convertible debt in May, which will allow the company to refocus on its core cellular internet-of-things (IoT) and software-defined radio businesses.
According to CEO Georges Karam, Sequans used the sales proceeds from Bitcoin to eliminate its convertible debt and strengthen its balance sheet. The company now has no cryptocurrency holdings and no outstanding debt beyond government-financed research and development obligations.
This marks a significant shift in Sequans' strategy, as it once held more than 3,200 BTC under its treasury strategy launched in June 2025. At the time, Karam described Bitcoin as 'a premier asset and a compelling long-term investment.'
