Sequans Fully Exits Bitcoin Treasury Strategy After Liquidating Remaining Holdings
Sequans Communications has sold its remaining 314 BTC and fully exited its Bitcoin treasury strategy. The company had been gradually liquidating its holdings throughout 2026, starting with a sale of 970 BTC in November 2025 to reduce its debt from $189 million to $94.5 million.
CEO Georges Karam described the move as 'a tactical decision' at the time, stating that the company would be better positioned to expand its Bitcoin holdings later on.
However, by May 2026, Sequans had redeemed all of its convertible debt and announced plans to permanently wind down its Bitcoin treasury strategy. The company has now directed its focus towards capitalizing on the strong momentum of its semiconductor business, which reported product revenue growth of over 80% year-over-year in the second quarter of 2026.
