Sharplink's Aggressive ETH Staking Push Amid Ongoing Losses Sparks Investor Concern
Sharplink's massive Ethereum (ETH) staking push has raised eyebrows among investors, particularly given the company's ongoing losses. In August 2026, Sharplink reported second-quarter revenue of US$11.53 million and a net loss of about US$394.27 million.
The company committed US$200 million of its Ethereum treasury to Lido's liquid staking protocol and launched the Galaxy Sharplink Onchain Yield Fund, LP with US$125 million in capital. This move highlights Sharplink's effort to turn a large ETH treasury into a more productive, institutionally managed on-chain portfolio.
However, this aggressive use of its ETH treasury also sharpens key risks, including heightened dependence on Ethereum infrastructure and execution risk in complex yield strategies.
