Shiba Inu Developer Breaks Silence Amid Shibarium Speculation
Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya has broken months of silence on X in response to speculation about Shibarium. His brief reply, 'Yours truly,' came after an X user raised concerns about the cost of maintaining a Layer 2 network.
The question was sparked by Ethereum Layer 2 chain Blast's decision to wind down its operations due to high operating costs and lack of economic sustainability. Users have been given until October 26 to withdraw assets through Blast's interface.
Dhairya's response alleviated fears that Shibarium might be abandoned, but he did not provide details on the funding structure supporting the network. Despite this, Shibarium continues to receive infrastructure attention with recent updates including a resolved reorg and the migration of public RPC endpoints to new, decentralized infrastructure.
Shibarium node operators have also been informed about a peer rotation, while the Shibarium explorer reports ongoing reindexing of the chain with 54% of blocks currently indexed.
