Shiba Inu Exchange Outflows Surge 62% in Hours Amid Volatility
Shiba Inu's (SHIB) exchange outflows have surged by nearly 62% in just a few hours, according to on-chain metrics. The seven-day moving average of exchange outflows has jumped to approximately 630.8 billion SHIB, representing a 5.9% daily increase.
This sudden spike comes as SHIB attempts to stabilize after one of its most volatile trading sessions this month. Rising outflows are generally interpreted as a reduction in immediately available selling supply, since tokens transferred to private wallets are less likely to be sold in the near term.
Despite the mixed on-chain picture, with exchange reserves edging higher and total exchange netflows posting a modest increase, SHIB's price has held above both the 50-day and 100-day moving averages. The long upper wick on the daily candle highlights aggressive profit-taking, as traders sold into strength immediately after the rally.
