Shiba Inu Holder Count Declines Amid Robinhood Expansion

Shiba Inu's (SHIB) holder count has seen a slight decline in recent days, but this does not necessarily indicate that thousands of investors have abandoned the token. According to on-chain data, the number of SHIB-holding addresses reached approximately 1,678,991 on Aug. 5, marking another milestone for the token's large and highly active community.

However, the figure then declined to roughly 1,677,567 the following day, representing a reduction of 1,424 addresses within a 24-hour period. This decline could appear concerning at first glance, but blockchain address data needs to be interpreted carefully.

A single person can control multiple wallets, while exchanges and other platforms can move assets between addresses without any underlying change in the number of people holding the cryptocurrency.

More recent data showed that the holder count had recovered part of the decline, reaching approximately 1,678,300 addresses. This remains below the Aug. 5 peak, but the partial recovery suggests that the initial decline has not yet developed into a clear long-term downward trend.
