Shiba Inu Surges on Regulatory Wins, But Risks Remain High
Shiba Inu's price has been trending higher over the last month after a year of declines, but it remains an extremely risky investment. In March, the SEC classified Shiba Inu as a commodity, and T. Rowe Price filed for an ETF that could hold the meme coin among other cryptocurrencies.
The regulatory wins are beneficial for Shiba Inu, but they haven't moved the needle noticeably when viewed through a wider lens. The token is still down 94% from its all-time high set in 2021 and down by 60% over the past 12 months.
Shiba Inu has occasionally gone on short upward runs, though their peaks have been lower since the big one in 2021. It reached $0.000045 in 2024, which is about nine times higher than its current price.
