Shiba Inu Turns Six: Token Price Surges Amid Revitalized Burning Program
The Shiba Inu project has celebrated its sixth anniversary, but it seems that the expected ecosystem update or major announcement was nowhere to be found. Instead, the team simply reflected on the journey from 'zero to a global movement' and stated that 'the experiment continues.' Despite this lack of new information, the meme coin's price has seen a 10% increase over the last 30 days.
The burning program, which aims to reduce the token's supply and make SHIB more valuable through scarcity, has been revitalized in recent months. According to Shibburn, a total of 3.2 billion SHIB tokens have been transferred to a null address in July, resulting in a permanent removal from circulation.
This represents a significant 1,395% increase from the June figure and brings the total number of burned tokens to an impressive sum. However, it's essential to note that this figure is still relatively small compared to the massive 585 trillion coins currently in circulation.
