Shibarium Maintenance Costs Revealed by Shiba Inu Developer
Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya has ended months of silence on X with a cryptic reply to a user's question about the cost of maintaining Shibarium, a Layer 2 network.
The user, Ed Salomons, had asked who was paying for Shibarium's hardening, updates, and ongoing maintenance after citing the example of Ethereum Layer 2 chain Blast, which is winding down operations due to high operating costs.
Dhairya simply replied 'Yours truly', indicating that he or his team are responsible for covering the costs, but did not provide further details.
This development comes amid speculation about Shibarium's future, with some concerns that it might be abandoned like Blast.
However, Shibarium continues to receive infrastructure attention, with recent updates and maintenance work, including a peer rotation and the publication of new Bor static nodes and Heimdall persistent peers.
