Shibarium's Transaction Volatility Continues as Developer Ambition Presses On
Shibarium's layer-2 blockchain experienced another episode of rapid growth and collapse in transaction activity, echoing a trend that has persisted for months. Data from Shibariumscan shows that daily transactions spiked to 4,480 on August 9, more than six times the previous day's total of 738. However, this surge was short-lived, with transaction numbers plummeting to 831 by August 10.
This pattern of fleeting spikes has become a recurring theme for Shibarium, with similar surges occurring in July and August. Despite these fluctuations, developer activity continues unabated, with contributors expanding documentation pages to support the development of consumer-facing applications on the network.
The disconnect between developer ambition and on-chain reality remains stark, according to early Bitcoin advocate Jeremie Davinci, who noted that Shiba Inu has a chain capable of running applications but 'nobody is using it, and there are no applications for using your tokens on Shibarium yet.' Meanwhile, SHIB's price has dropped 3.48% over the last 24 hours to roughly $0.0000045, extending its weekly decline to 9.58%.
