Silbert Backs AI Token Poised to Be Next Big Cryptocurrency
Barry Silbert, founder of Digital Currency Group (DCG), has doubled down on his investment in Bittensor AI token ($TAO) by comparing its scarcity model to that of Zcash and Bitcoin.
Silbert, known as the 'crypto king' for building an institutional empire and making early investments in BTC, sees TAO as a continuation of the scarcity model behind privacy coins.
He made this comparison through a social media thread where analysts drew parallels between ZEC and TAO due to their strict mathematical scarcity parameters, including fixed supply and regular halvings.
Silbert's companies have been investing in Bittensor since 2021, and he openly calls it the most exciting project since Bitcoin, stating that BTC has already moved into the category of mature defensive assets.
He is backing up his thesis by building commercial infrastructure around TAO, including creating a subsidiary called Yuma Group to work with the ecosystem and Grayscale Investments providing regulated access to the token through its AI trust.
