Singapore Crypto Economy Reaches Record $284 Billion Amid Regulatory Growth
Singapore's cryptocurrency activity has experienced significant growth over the past year, reaching a total transaction value of $284 billion by June 2026. This represents a 55.4% increase in crypto transactions compared to the same period in 2025.
The country reclaimed its position as the largest crypto economy in the Central & Southern Asia and Oceania (CSAO) region, surpassing other major markets in the area. According to Chainalysis records, institutional platforms processed $60 billion over the same period, a 94% rebound compared to the previous cycle.
Regulatory frameworks implemented by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) have contributed to this growth, particularly in corporate infrastructure. The regulatory framework has curtailed retail speculation within the territory and favored the retention of banks and institutions with commercial distributed ledger technology implementations.
In contrast, other countries in Southeast Asia such as the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam recorded significant growth in retail adoption through peer-to-peer (P2P) transfers. These three territories accounted for 14.4% of global P2P transactions under $10,000 between July 2025 and June 2026.
