Singapore Unites AI, Blockchain Leaders for Digital Finance Push
Singapore is taking steps to integrate artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies in its financial sector. The Agentic Decentralized Finance Forum, held on August 6, 2026, brought together experts from government, finance, technology, academia, and the digital asset sector to explore the convergence of AI agents, decentralized finance, tokenized real-world assets, and digital financial infrastructure.
The forum focused on how autonomous software could become increasingly capable of participating in economic activity. StraitsX CEO Tianwei Liu mentioned that emerging digital economies may involve AI agents taking a more active role in commerce, increasing demand for secure infrastructure to enable software systems to transfer value while meeting regulatory requirements.
Tokenization was another key area discussed at the forum, with blockchain-based representations of real-world assets providing financial institutions with new mechanisms for issuing and transferring assets. StraitsX reported processing over $30 billion in stablecoin transactions across 3.6 million transactions.
