SingularityNET Contract Exploit Leaves Crypto Community on High Alert
A recent exploit on SingularityNET's contracts has left the cryptocurrency community in a state of caution. On September 19, reports emerged of an unauthorized minting through the bridge connecting Ethereum and Cardano. The breach targeted the SingularityNET Bridge specifically.
Fortunately for Fetch.ai users, their own contracts remain unaffected by the exploit. According to Fetch.ai's public statement, FET operations continue normally, with no vulnerability found in Fetch.ai's infrastructure. However, as a precautionary measure, AGIX to FET conversions have been paused until further notice.
The SingularityNET Bridge was identified as the primary point of failure, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the root cause of the breach. The company has committed to sharing updates on the progress of the investigation, but a timeline for restoration has not been provided.
