Smarter Web Company raises £2.2 million to cut Coinbase debt
The Smarter Web Company PLC has raised £2.2 million through the sale of 2,883,000 ordinary shares at £0.75 per share. The transaction was part of a subscription agreement announced on December 24, 2025, and the company expects to retain about 98.25% of the gross proceeds. The remaining unsold shares under the agreement total 38,330,788.
The company plans to use some of the net proceeds to reduce its strategic credit facility with Coinbase from £19.0 million to £17.0 million. This loan is secured against the company's Bitcoin holdings and can be repaid without additional charges at the company's discretion.
The Smarter Web Company operates in digital services, including web design, development, and digital marketing, serving over 500 client websites. It follows a Bitcoin treasury policy, using Bitcoin as its primary treasury reserve asset.
