Smarter Web's Bitcoin Strategy Chief Jesse Myers Departs Without Successor Named
The Smarter Web Company has announced that Jesse Myers, its Head of Bitcoin Strategy, will leave on September 1. However, the company has not named a successor to inherit his responsibilities. Myers' duties included implementing the treasury strategy, managing data and analytics, and producing investor materials.
Smarter Web holds 2,712 BTC and has an £18.5 million Coinbase credit facility. The board retains overall authority for management, strategy, and risk. Despite the lack of a named successor, Myers' responsibilities will be reassigned under the current Bitcoin Treasury Policy.
The company's treasury update on August 3 reported net Bitcoin purchases of £224.8 million with an average purchase price of £82,886 per coin. Smarter Web also uses institutional providers for self-custody and has a framework for risk management.
