SMX Connects Plastics to Blockchain and Markets with Expanded Digital Platform
SMX (NASDAQ:SMX) is expanding its Digital Material Passport platform to connect physical materials, including plastics, directly to digital blockchain and markets. This infrastructure upgrade enables verified material assets to be traded based on their provenance, composition, and lifecycle.
The company's molecular marking technology embeds invisible markers into plastic materials, allowing for authentication and verification throughout the supply chain. The Digital Material Passport Platform (DMPP) connects this physical identity to a secure digital record containing information about origin, composition, chain of custody, recycled content, manufacturing history, and lifecycle status.
SMX's platform is designed to bridge the gap between the physical plastics economy and the digital economy built around data, verification, and tokenized real-world assets. By connecting verified material identity with digital markets, SMX aims to create a new commercial proposition for recycled plastic, making it economically competitive with virgin materials.
