SoFi Taps Stablecoin for $25 Billion Card Program

Share

SoFi Bank has partnered with Mastercard to settle its full debit and credit card program through SoFiUSD, a stablecoin issued by the nationally chartered bank. This move puts over $25 billion in expected annualized card volume on a stablecoin settlement rail.

The transactions are live on the blockchain as SoFi migrates the entire card program to SoFiUSD. The program includes both SoFi debit and credit cards, but merchants do not need to hold SoFiUSD or change their existing payment systems to receive settlement funds.

The announcement comes after SoFi and Mastercard partnered in March and follows the launch of SoFiUSD in December 2025 and its availability to users through the SoFi app in May.
