Solana Activates Larger v1 Transactions on Mainnet

Solana's v1 transaction format has gone live on mainnet, increasing the maximum transaction size from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes. This upgrade is a significant development for the network, providing more room for zero-knowledge proofs, large multisignature structures, and batched operations.

The activation of v1 transactions is a major milestone for Solana, marking a shift in how developers approach complex financial applications on the network. The larger capacity will allow workloads that previously had to be divided across linked transactions to now fit within one atomic transaction in more cases.

Solana's institutional story has been gaining traction in recent months, with the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF reaching $1 billion in assets under management on August 28. This milestone represents a significant increase in regulated investment access for SOL, further expanding the network's visibility among professional investors.
