Solana Aims to Unite Financial Sector Like Netflix Unified Movie Producers
The Solana Foundation has set ambitious goals for its blockchain platform, aiming to become what it calls the 'Netflix of Finance.'
Virbu Norby, the chief product officer of the non-profit Solana Foundation, made this claim at a recent gathering for Stanford's blockchain community.
Norby believes that Solana can bring financial companies together on a single platform, much like how Netflix and Amazon brought movie producers and online merchants to a single platform.
The goal is for Solana to become 'one marketplace where every asset and every market live together in a single place,' enabling global, near-instant transactions.
Norby acknowledged that Solana only secures about $50 billion in network assets, which represents a tiny slice of the global financial markets.
