Solana and Hyperliquid Dominate Crypto Prediction Markets Growth
Crypto prediction markets have seen explosive growth in recent months, and two assets are at its center: Solana (SOL) and Hyperliquid's HYPE token. According to a CoinShares report from July 16, combined monthly notional volume across major platforms has climbed tenfold in just nine months, reaching $43.7 billion by June 2026. Within this space, Solana protocols have generated roughly $1.4 million in monthly revenue since April.
Solana's success can be attributed to its on-ramps, such as Phantom and Jupiter, which serve as entry points for users between networks and give the platform a distribution advantage that newer chains struggle to replicate. Hyperliquid, on the other hand, has seen significant interest with $331.1 million in cumulative notional volume within the first nine weeks of launching its HIP-4 outcome markets on May 2, 2026.
Family offices have taken notice of this growth, but their approach to investing in Hyperliquid differs from that of Solana. Rather than holding direct tokens, they prefer to invest through equity stakes in treasury vehicles linked to Hyperliquid. CoinShares has made it easier for institutions to access both assets by offering ETP products that provide exposure to SOL and HYPE.
