Solana Boosts Transaction Size, Gains Ground on Rival Ethereum
Solana, a popular blockchain platform, is set to triple its maximum transaction size from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes. This change will enable developers to fit more complex trades into a single operation, making it easier for them to build and deploy applications on the network.
The new limit is already being tested on Solana's test and development networks. Existing transaction formats will continue to work, so wallets and apps do not need to switch to the new format unless they require the extra space.
This upgrade could help Solana gain an edge over its rival Ethereum, which has no rigid protocol size limit. The increase in transaction size is a significant improvement for Solana, as it previously fell behind Ethereum in this key area.
