Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko recently promoted a fundraising campaign for a tokenized dinosaur skull called Deaton, which is a Triceratops prorsus skull. The sale aims to raise $660,000 on the Solana blockchain, with Jurassic Finance planning to spend $600,000 acquiring the fossil and $60,000 going into its labs treasury.

The project has already raised over 61% of its target, reaching $406,667 in USDC contributions by Wednesday morning. The fundraising campaign is structured as an all-or-nothing basis, meaning that contributors will receive a full refund if the target falls short and the project will not accept oversubscription.

Tokenized assets still face unresolved questions over what holders actually own, and this structure may be relevant to the discussion surrounding ownership rights. The fossil is currently in museum-grade territory with three original horns surviving, and the team plans to place it on long-term loan rather than storage.
