Solana Co-Founder Promotes $660,000 Tokenized Dinosaur Skull Sale
Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko recently promoted a tokenized dinosaur skull sale on social media, posting three dinosaur emojis as the $660,000 raise entered its final hours. The project, Jurassic Finance, aims to move Deaton, a Triceratops prorsus skull, onto Solana as one million tradable tokens.
The fundraising campaign had covered 61% of its target early Wednesday, with contributors committing over $406,667 in USDC by morning. However, the offer is structured on an all-or-nothing basis: if the target falls short, contributors will receive a full refund, and the project will not accept oversubscription.
Jurassic Finance plans to acquire Deaton for $600,000, with $60,000 going towards its labs treasury. The team claims that ownership of the fossil will run through a special purpose vehicle, granting holders economic rights rather than direct title to the bone. This structure raises questions about what token holders actually own in the world of digital assets.
