Solana DEX Trades Outpace NYSE in Record-Breaking Week

Solana's decentralized exchange (DEX) activity has reached new heights. According to data released on September 22, Solana recorded approximately 208 million spot DEX trades in the week ended September 13, surpassing the roughly 190 million trades counted on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) during the same period.

The figures measure transaction counts rather than the dollar value of assets traded. This means that while Solana handled more trades, it doesn't necessarily mean the network handled more capital or revenue than the NYSE.

Solana's spot DEX activity generated approximately $2.67 billion in volume during the week. SOL-stablecoin pairs accounted for about 44.8% of this volume, while memecoin pairs represented around 27.2%. Pump.fun led the period by trade count with 14,303,122 transactions.

The data may support the case for stronger Solana network usage in the fourth quarter, but it does not establish that this milestone will drive demand for Solana (SOL) or become a price catalyst.
