Solana DEXs Outpace NYSE Weekly Trade Count
Solana's decentralized exchanges (DEXs) have reached new heights in terms of trading activity, eclipsing even those of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). According to data from Flipthe.market and Blockworks Research, Solana's DEXs processed approximately 208 million trades between September 14 and September 20, surpassing the NYSE's weekly count of around 189 million trades during the same period. This milestone underscores the scale of on-chain trading activity taking place on Solana's network.
The comparison between Solana's DEX trade count and the NYSE's is not entirely straightforward, as the two markets operate differently. Solana's figures represent executed on-chain swaps across its DEX ecosystem, while the NYSE's counts include exchange trades during traditional market hours. Additionally, Solana operates continuously, allowing transactions throughout weekends and outside U.S. equity-market hours.
The increase in transaction frequency is accompanied by substantial trading value, with Solana DEXs processing approximately $17.3 billion in weekly volume during September 14-20. This places the trade-count milestone within a broader period of sustained decentralized-market activity rather than representing a single-day spike.
