Solana-Driven Rally Lifts Raydium Token 24.5%
Raydium's RAY token has experienced a significant price increase of 24.5% over the past 24 hours, according to CoinGecko data. This surge in value comes as Solana's broader on-chain activity has also risen, with SOL trading at $85.89 and down only 0.6% for the day.
Raydium is an automated market maker built on Solana, using a central order book model borrowed from Serum. It allows liquidity providers to earn fees from both AMM swaps and limit-order activity, and also functions as a launchpad for new Solana tokens through its AcceleRaytor program.
The protocol's recent volume spike may be attributed to the launch of meme token projects on Solana, which have historically lifted AMM volumes. Additionally, Orca, a rival Solana DEX, reported a 63% price surge with $348.8M in volume, indicating a spike in Solana-native trading demand.
Raydium's RAY token has been affected by the broader crypto market fluctuations, falling below $0.15 in late 2022 after the collapse of FTX. However, it has made a recovery and currently sits at $0.83, reflecting a pullback from its 2024 highs.
